About Jenna
My professional training career began in 2013 after volunteering for a number of rescues in the New York City area and being bit by the behavior bug (which turned me into a dog nerd rather than Spiderman)! Since then I have received a number of professional certifications and am proud to constantly be diving into continuing education opportunities and expanding my knowledge so I can continue to help my clients with the most up-to-date and current canine behavior science.
As a behavior consultant, my goal is to go beyond teaching you and your dog skills. I work with the human client to help them better understand their dog and their behavior in a way that is informative and fun! With this deeper understanding of not just the individual dog but dogs as a whole, we can address behavior and approach it from a place of compassion and understanding that builds a stronger relationship with your canine companion as you work through the behavior modification process.
Not only is training with me dog-friendly, it’s human-friendly too! Whether you’ve used different methods in the past or are a first-time dog owner, please know my goal is to help you learn so you can better help your dog through behavior struggles. I take great pride in having a good rapport with my human clients, listening to their needs and customizing training plans accordingly, and providing a fun and judgment free experience.
About Shannon
I’ve dedicated my adult life, both professionally and personally, to the care of animals. I owned and operated The Dog Spot and The Cat Pad, a pet boarding and dog daycare center in Boulder, for 18 years. I absolutely loved enriching animals’ lives and seeing the relationships between pets and their people flourish.
As a trainer, I am particularly fond of helping new puppy parents navigate the fun and tricky aspects of puppyhood as well as helping people build a relationship with their newly adopted adult dog. I’m dedicated to science-based, force-free training, and helping people acquire the relationship they envision with their dogs. I live with my husband and our rescue animals, Hashbrown, a 6 year old Staffordshire Terrier, Nimbus, a 10 year old Plott Hound mix, Monty, a 17 year old cat, and Barry, a 16 year old goat. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, traveling, spending time with friends, and expanding my knowledge in all things dog and behavior!
